You claim that the Cape Breton Spectator has ambitious goals. Yet, you publish articles like this week’s “Where’s Cecil?,” which strikes me as the kind of gossipy story that one might find in a supermarket rag.
Despite his status as a former mayor, Cecil Clarke is now a private citizen and deserves to be treated as such. Pursuing Clarke in such an innuendo-laced article, snarkily suggesting he is not qualified for his current role, makes you sound like a vindictive bully who can’t bear to see a rival get up off the mat.
Sincerely yours,

I have had six full days to think of a response to this letter that is funnier than this letter.
I have failed.
